Wm. Andrew Sykes, Head Elder

Elder Wm. Andrew Sykes is a graduate of the Bacon County High School in Alma, Georgia.  He served our country in the United States Navy for 12 years which brought him to Pensacola, Florida where he now resides.  Upon leaving military service, Elder Sykes now serves our country in the capacity of Civil Service at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola.  Elder Sykes served 8 years as an Accounting Technician and 13 years as a Payroll Technician.  He currently works as a Purchasing Agent for the Naval Public Works Department.


Elder Sykes was ordained Elder during an all-night prayer meeting in Mobile, Alabama, January 1, 2001 under the tutelage of Pastor Clifton J. McMillan.  Elder Sykes served as Head Elder and Head Treasurer from 2002 through 2008.  One of Elder Sykes' favorite passages of Scripture is "Isaiah 58:9".


Elder Sykes is married to the former Lucinda M. Black of Pensacola, Florida.  She is a graduate of Pensacola Junior College (PJC, now known as Pensacola State College) and also a Civil Service worker at Naval Air Station, Pensacola.  They have four grown children: Monica Deon, Gernita Dawan, Andrae Jamil and DeMarques Fonsha and have been blessed with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
